These past two summers, the Mount Laurel Police(MLPD) as held an event called “Ice Cream with an Officer.” The MLPD invites members of the community to come out and get to know the officers that serve their community, as well as to eat some ice cream on a hot summer day.
The MLPD hosts several events throughout the year to expand their community policing initiatives. This past February, the department hosted Coffee with a Cop, encouraging the Mount Laurel community to come out and ask questions about the department. The MLPD also gave a demonstration of their K-9 unit.
This August, the MLPD will be hosting “Cops and Bobbers” at the Mount Laurel Acres Park Thursday, August 20th. The event is for children ages 5 to 15. Children can bring their own fishing poles or the MLPD will provide one. Live music, K-9 demos, and fishing will be part of the event. However, SPOTS ARE LIMITED, so be sure to sign up early by e-mailing communityrelations@mountlaurelpd.org. Once you are confirmed, MLPD will provide more information.
